I am Lady El'keturah Scandrett, the owner of Love Herbs Tea under Lady El'keturah Shop LLC.
In the year of 2011, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease that turned my life upside down. It was severe, aggressive, and frightening. It caused me to have bleeding ulcers that were passing out of my rectum with blood in the same consistency as diarrhea. This all started from drinking water that was served by a waiter on a Carnival cruise ship at dinner. It was tap water, but it was contaminated.
I was in the Bahamas, feeling very nauseous and not right at all. When I got back to the United States, the bleeding started getting worse. I ended up in the ER at Piedmont Henry Hospital. The doctors and nurses were very helpful, but they were confused. They thought it was traveler’s diarrhea. But deep in my spirit, I knew it was the water I had drunk. When you learn how your body adapts to things and you live in the spirit, you will know what entered your body that was not right.
Once I was discharged, the symptoms only got worse. I was right back in the hospital, admitted again for the same issue. The doctors were filling me up with pain drugs, Prednisone, IV fluids, and blood transfusions. My dad was alive then, and both he and my mother were always by my side. I remember my mom telling me she almost lost me, I was losing that much blood.
I remember lying on that hospital bed when God spoke to me, telling me I shall live and not die. I held onto my faith, even when some of the doctors were giving up on me. They told me I would need to wear a colostomy bag, and I said no, I will not. I had faith and believed God would heal me. I didn’t know how or when, but I knew God loved me enough to keep me alive.
I went through different trials, including participating in a hospital study in Atlanta where they paid me to try a new drug. At first, I received a placebo. Then I was given the actual prescription drug in the form of injections that I had to take for weeks. I thought it was helping, but it wasn’t.
I was going to the bathroom 20 times a day, keeping a journal of my symptoms and how often I went. I had to quit my job at Seniors Helpers because I needed to stay close to a bathroom. I ended up receiving disability for this condition.
I started doing my own research and asked my doctor, Dr. Shelly, if she could prescribe some type of enema. It was made in Israel. I began to see some changes in the bleeding, but it would still come and go. My body was breaking down from all the prescription drugs. I didn’t know what else to do but pray and ask the Lord to help and heal me, because I was broken.
And God answered.
He gave me a vision, not sure of the exact year, but it was after my dad passed in 2020. In that vision, God told me to blend rosemary, thyme, basil, and yarrow herbs together and sip it as tea. I obeyed. I kept drinking it as my medicine.
That tea helped me come off all prescription drugs, pain pills, steroids, anxiety medication, migraine pills, and pills for colitis. The tea stopped the bleeding that doctors could not.
Healing is a process. All disabilities aren’t seen. Healing happens in steps, but you have to have faith.
This is how Love Herbs Tea was created.
It’s more than selling something to sip on. It’s my testimony. It’s proof that God heard my prayers. And I want to encourage you, God hears your prayers too.
As I continue to heal, including back pain from falling on steps three times, I encourage you to have faith and believe that Jesus will heal you by His stripes. My goal is to help you see healing and get healthy with being sober from prescription drugs.
